Alexa Grasso faces Manon Fiorot at Noche UFC believing a strong performance can move her back toward flyweight gold.

Alexa Grasso returns to Noche UFC on Saturday with a clear objective: put herself back on the path toward the UFC women’s flyweight title. The former champion meets Manon Fiorot in a critical flyweight fight on the main card at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona. It will be Grasso’s third appearance at Noche UFC, an event she says has special meaning because it celebrates her country and Mexican athletes competing in the sport.

For Grasso, the assignment arrives as both a competitive opportunity and a personal moment. She headlined the inaugural Noche UFC event, and she has continued to speak about what the annual September card represents for Mexican fighters. Grasso said she is proud the event has continued, pointing to the growth in the number of Mexican athletes and champions connected to the UFC. She has also maintained a wish for Noche UFC to be staged in Mexico, specifically lobbying for her hometown of Guadalajara. That perspective gives her Glendale appearance a broader setting, but her immediate focus remains the fight in front of her and the title goal she says is always in her mind.

Grasso’s route back into the title picture

Grasso enters the Fiorot matchup after a stretch that tested her place near the top of the division. She fought Valentina Shevchenko to a draw in the main event of the first Noche UFC in Las Vegas, then lost her belt to Shevchenko in the co-main event of UFC 306 at Sphere. Eight months later, Grasso suffered another defeat against Natalia Silva in Montreal. When she traveled to Seattle in March for a rematch with Maycee Barber, she had gone three straight appearances without a victory.

The response against Barber changed the tone of Grasso’s recent run. Just past the midway point of the opening round, the 33-year-old finished Barber with a club-and-sub sequence. Grasso credited the work of her team and said she does not want to remain focused on the past, instead looking ahead to improving in the next performance. She also said after the Barber win that she was grateful to be healthy and is a different fighter when she is not dealing with injuries. Those comments frame this week as more than a return to a familiar event: Grasso is trying to build from a win she viewed as evidence of her work and readiness.

Why the Fiorot fight matters now

The flyweight landscape shifted before Grasso and Fiorot meet. Shevchenko relinquished the title because of injury, and Silva is scheduled to fight Wang Cong for the vacant belt at UFC 332 early next month in Salt Lake City, Utah. That makes Grasso-Fiorot one of two pivotal divisional contests positioned around the vacant-title fight. Grasso has not offered an extended breakdown of Fiorot, but she praised her French opponent’s skills and said she enjoys competing against tough opponents. Fiorot also arrives after a rebound victory, having stopped Jasmine Jasudavicius in 74 seconds in Vancouver following her loss to Shevchenko at UFC 315 in Montreal. Grasso’s stated target is direct: secure an important victory, take another step toward reclaiming the title and show what she has trained for.

Grasso’s return to Noche UFC combines an event she values deeply with a fight carrying immediate divisional importance. Her win over Barber ended a difficult run, while the vacant championship has created a changed setting at 125 pounds. Against Fiorot, Grasso has the chance to reinforce the forward-looking approach she described and continue the pursuit of the title she says remains her constant goal.
