Dillon Danis Withdraws From Perry Fight

Dillon Danis will not fight Mike Perry in Saturday’s main event at Dual Arena. Danis withdrew roughly 48 hours before the show, leaving the promotion to replace him with Brandon Jenkins. Perry announced the change Thursday, turning what had been a heavily promoted matchup into a short-notice assignment against a different opponent.

Danis later posted a photograph of his arm with stitches and explained that an injury had taken him out of the bout. The image gave context to the withdrawal, but it did not change the immediate consequence for the event. Perry still plans to compete, Jenkins has accepted the late call, and the main event will go ahead without the man whose rivalry with Perry had driven much of the attention.

Brandon Jenkins Accepts the Late Call

Jenkins enters with almost no time for a conventional fight camp. His most recent appearance came in May, when he defeated Chris Avila at MVP MMA. That result at least gives him recent competition, but stepping into a main event on two days’ notice is a different demand. He must adjust to Perry, the rule set and the pressure of replacing a recognizable name without the normal period devoted to tactics, recovery and weight management.

Perry faces his own adjustment. A camp designed around Danis would have emphasized a particular style and set of habits. Jenkins presents another body type, another rhythm and a different recent résumé. Perry is no longer preparing for the personality attached to the original promotion; he has to solve the athlete who agreed to show up when the booking changed.

The replacement preserves the main event, but it cannot reproduce the story that Danis and Perry had built. Their public exchanges and contrasting backgrounds were central to the sales pitch. Jenkins now gets an unexpected platform, while Perry assumes the risk that always comes with accepting a late substitute: he is expected to win even though the practical circumstances have changed for him as well.

Another Scheduled Fight Falls Through for Danis

For Danis, the withdrawal adds to a stop-start combat-sports schedule. He has remained visible through social media and high-profile callouts, yet converting those announcements into completed fights has repeatedly been difficult. His recent activity has included grappling appearances involving Colby Covington and Khamzat Chimaev, but the Perry matchup was supposed to provide another conventional combat-sports contest in front of a broad audience.

Danis was also scheduled to return to MMA against Warren Spencer in August 2025, and earlier boxing plans involving KSI did not reach the ring as originally advertised. Each situation has its own circumstances, so the latest injury should not be treated as proof that every previous cancellation had the same cause. The relevant fact this week is narrower: Danis is injured, he is off the card, and Jenkins has taken his place.

No new date for Danis against Perry has been announced. Calling the fight postponed would therefore go beyond the information available. The promotion has moved forward with Perry versus Jenkins, while any future attempt to revive the original matchup would require a separate agreement and another formal announcement.
